Dr. Ford earned her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in Psychology, Master of Science degree from The Johns Hopkins University in School Counseling, and a Doctor of Education from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Counseling Psychology. She holds two Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study from The Johns Hopkins University in Clinical Community Counseling and in Higher Education. She is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), National Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and Board Certified Telemental Health Counselor (BC-TMH). Dr. Ford was an adjunct professor at Walden University in the School of Counseling. She had a private practice, for over a decade, counseling children, adolescents, and adults. She has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on counselor advocacy and mental health. She is also a motivational speaker, poet, and author. Dr. Ford currently holds the position of Director of the University Wellness Center.
